Write New Fluency Goals Activity

Write New Fluency Goals Activity

Description: Sometimes you’re struggling to come up with therapy ideas because your goals weren’t that great to start with!  Sometimes your goals just need a little update.  Try writing goals for fluency in the following four areas:

  • Desensitization (practicing pseudo-stuttering/stuttering on purpose in various settings)
  • Understanding Stuttering (make sure the child is able to talk about his stuttering and understand what causes it and his specific triggers)
  • Fluency-Shaping Techniques (such as continuous phonation, easy onset, or light articulatory touches)
  • Stuttering-Modification Techniques (such as pull-outs, preparatory sets, and cancellations)

You can click the link below to access our sample goals for fluency or write your own!  Just make sure the goals you’re working on reflect where the child is and what he needs to be working on.

Helping You Help Them

Our Mission

We all got into this field because we wanted to help.  But high caseloads, tons of paperwork, and not enough planning time leads to burn-out and stress.

The SLP Solution’s mission is to support you with tools, resources, and expert advice so that you can be there for the children who depend on you!

*** The SLP Solution is for informational and educational purposes only and does not provide medical or psychological advice.  We provide general resources but cannot tell you exactly what should be done for a specific client.  Every client is different and your clinical judgement should be used when making decisions about specific individuals.
