Blank Visual Schedule Activity
Description: Here’s a great activity to introduce if you have a child who struggles to stay on task during your therapy sessions. For this one, you’ll add a few tasks that the child has to do before he gets to choose a reward. I suggest laminating a page like this (you can download ours using the link below or make your own) and using a dry erase marker so you can re-use it. For some children, you may need to start with just one box filled in in the “First I need to…” section. Gradually, you can increase the number of tasks they need to do. Or you can use this to indicate how many repetitions of the skill they must complete before getting the reward. For example, the child could say a target word 5 times before they get a blow of bubbles. Take one session to introduce this concept and help the child understand how it works. Then, you can use it throughout the rest of your sessions to keep everyone on track.
