Rapid Naming from Categories Activity
Description: Here’s a great activity for children who need to work on word retrieval skills. Name a category and ask the child to name as many items from that category as possible. You can do animals, foods, clothes, drinks, body parts, etc. The idea is to have the child practice accessing words quickly. This will not only help with the semantic organization of the language centers of the brain, but also in strengthening the child’s brain pathways to those words.
