Fill-in-the-Blank Associations Activity

Fill-in-the-Blank Associations Activity

Description: Here’s a great activity for children who need to work on word retrieval skills.  For this one, you’ll take a short phrase and remove one word.  The idea is for the child to make an association in his brain to fill in that word.  This will help the brain organize those language areas so that there are more connections between different words.  And we know that the more connections the brain makes, the better it works!  Here are some examples:

  • A pair of ____
  • Peanut butter and ____
  • Close the ____
  • Elephants live in the ____
