Survival Kit Week 4 Activities

These are the worksheets for week 4 of the Survival Kit setup:

Speech Sounds:
Speech Sound Warm-Up Activity
Working on sound stimulability can improve overall intelligibilty. This stimulability warm-up is a great alternative to NSOMEs!

Language:
Where Questions Worksheets
These worksheets start with super easy “where” questions and get progressively harder on each page.

AAC:
Book-Reading Activity AAC Board
A simple AAC board that can be used to help a child ask/answer questions and participate during a book-reading or storytime activity.

Apraxia:
CV and VC Word Phrase Builders
Help children with apraxia learn to build simple phrases and sentences using CV and VC words.

Autism:
Social Story for Initiating Play (for Verbal Children)
Here’s a great social story for children who know how to talk but don’t always know what to say to initiate play with peers.

Fluency:
Preparatory Set for Fluency Worksheet
Preparatory sets are a stuttering-modification technique that can be used to help a child ease through an anticipated stutter. This worksheet will help the child practice them in a controlled setting.

Non-Verbal/Functional Comm:
Vocabulary-Matching: Basic School Items
Help children match these common school items to improve receptive vocabulary and knowledge of simple words.

Resonance/Voice:
Nasal vs. Oral Airflow with Mirror Activity
This resonance activity will help the child visually see the difference between oral and nasal airflow when speaking words. You’ll need a small mirror for this one. I recommend adding that to your kit as well. You’ll use it for other activities, too, I’m sure!

Sensory/Behavior:
First, Then Boards
Write or draw what the student must do first and then write/draw what the student wants to do. First, do my thing, then, do yours. Simple visual for reinforcement.

Social:
Topic Maintenance Railroad
Don’t fall off the tracks! Use this train image to help children learn how to stay on topic.
