Reading Basic Words: Short “a” Sound Activity
Description: If you are working with a child who is struggling with reading basic words, it may be helpful to focus on one sound at a time. For this example, we chose all short “a” words. We also provided multiple choice options to help clue them in. The idea on this is to start with the pictures and then gradually fade back the visual cues until the child can read them without the picture.
